The Client:
For 55 years, A. Yoshii Group has been developing and constructing differentiated real estate projects and has maintained operations in Londrina, Maringá, Curitiba – Paraná, and Campinas – São Paulo. With hundreds of construction sites built and in progress, it is one of Brazil’s top 15 largest developers. Grupo A. Yoshii has built more than 2 million m² (21.5 MM sq. ft) from the south to the northeast of Brazil in varied private segments of the economy: industrial, corporate, and residential buildings, schools, universities, theaters, and sports centers.

One of the company’s main focuses is the construction of high-end multi-family buildings, which have already become postcards of the cities where the company operates. A. Yoshii’s brand signature is punctuality in delivery, excellent finishing standards, ethics, and negotiation transparency.

The Challenge:
With the current market shifts caused by the macro and micro economic forces and the impact of the COVID era, the company has decided to evaluate the operational readiness towards greater efficiencies in automation with the use of advanced AI technology.

In partnership with the organization’s technology team and buy-in from the CEO and upper management, we focused on creating the building blocks towards new organizational abilities in solving problems with greater insights from intelligent data analytics and by identifying the most promising uses case for AI applications.

Our assessment approach started with a 360 view of organizational opportunities for intelligent automation in 4 key areas: customer management, operations, support functions, and risk management. From there, we identified the top value-add business areas and problems to prioritize in the next digital transformation initiative with a clear understanding of the data, people, and resource constraints in reaching business goals.

The Outcome:
This process has positioned the company to align its shareholder and stakeholders toward focusing on clear innovation opportunities with a holistic roadmap to allocate people resources, training, and technology budgets; resulting in the formation of an innovation center of excellence and new strategic initiatives targeting the most valuable growth opportunities.

We developed avenues to address customer growth opportunities and bridge data silos across domain-specific teams for operational improvements. Lastly, we identified technology partners to execute the improvements.
